Our Background
The church is composed of several ethnic immigrants from Myanmar -- Chin, Kachin, Shan, Kayin, Mon, Bama,
and Chinese. Most of us come from Christian backgrounds. Some of us are new converts added to the church.

Myanmar is a Buddhist dominated country where 89% are Buddhists, 4.9% Christians, and 3% are Muslim. It is a military controlled nation with less freedom in all aspects of life. There has not been any Christian missionary work in the country since all the missionaries were sent home in 1966.
It is estimated that forty thousand Myanmar immigrants, out of a total of two hundred thousand in USA, live in southern California today, mainly in the San Gabriel Valley. The number has been increasing greatly during the past ten years. Most of them are seeking for political and religious asylum. There are 5 churches and 8 Buddhist temples to meet the spiritual needs of the people.
The Myanmar Full Life Mission Church was established because of the burden of reaching those immigrants
with the gospel of Christ. It is crucial that someone who knows their culture, language, and society
should take the task. Otherwise, they stay as a hidden people group in the melting pot city of the greater Los Angeles.
Why reaching Myanmar in the US needs Myanmar workers? Because

Why reaching Myanmar in the US needs Myanmar workers? Because
- The urgency of witnessing along the increasing number of immigrants.
- The people are hidden in the midst of other larger communities so that they must be sought and found at where they are.
- The effectiveness of witnessing demands learning and knowing the language and social cultural background of the people.
